Dune

IDAC Exhibition Design

Dune, a visually stunning exhibit designed in collaboration with ZJS Studio for the Acespace veneers, it draws inspiration from the undulating deserts, symbolizing the ever-changing nature of the company’s growth and adaptation to new-age materials.

As a computational designer entrusted with the responsibility of designing the exhibit, I was mindful of several practical parameters such as depth, weight, joineries, and completion timelines. Given the project’s fast-paced nature, we had to complete the design and fabrication drawings within a span of two days.

AR as a design process

To ensure accuracy and precision throughout the design process, we employed the Fologram (AR app), which helped us attain the correct proportions and parameters. During fabrication, the app helped carpenters and workers visualize the model and each part in real-time, ensuring that each piece was correctly placed to achieve the perfect wave.

Overall, the design of the Dune exhibit not only embodies the essence of Acespace’s growth and evolution but also showcases the power of computational design and technology in bringing innovative and visually stunning ideas to life.
